NHVT Computer Services, Corp. is seeking to add a talented professional to our team. We are currently looking to fill the position of Junior and Senior IT Systems Administrator. If selected, you will work closely with a dedicated team supporting the technical server infrastructure of our clients and provide technical support to local business and individuals.

NHVT Computer Services, Corp. provides technical support to local business and individuals for more then 6 years as a local company. Our staff have over 30 years of IT related experience.

All career opportunities are full-time (40 hrs/week) positions. Advance your computer knowledge and career by becoming a member of our small and growing local computer company. Junior IT System Administrator

Description: Looking for a great opportunity to learn? If you've got 2-3 years in an IT environment and have the confidence to take on a one-person shop, we'd like to speak with you. We are seeking a Junior IT Administrator to fulfill the role outlined in the job description below. With support from other staff, the Junior IT Admin is involved in supporting and maintaining computer networking; maintaining computer servers, configuring and maintaining user computers, company network, e-mail system, various software applications and systems to minimize downtime, maximize performance and contain costs. The Junior IT Admin also provides end user support for employees, acts as technical contact for various vendors, and performs other related duties as assigned.

Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Network Administration/Server Support: Responsible for operation of computer networks including hardware/software support, training, and special projects. Maintains connectivity for Local Area Network (LAN), VPN, printers, faxes, and computers.
  • Provides network and remote connectivity hardware/software support. Maintains LAN user documentation including hardware/software applications, support logs and other related information. Analyzes and troubleshoots the LAN and VPN issues. Logs and tracks the nature and resolution of problems.
  • Supports and maintains servers, computers, faxes, printers, and scanners.
  • Establishes and maintains user accounts, profiles, file sharing, printer sharing, access privileges and security. Performs scheduled network tasks, updating anti-virus definition files, monitoring network servers, and providing internet and intranet user support, and specialized training.
  • Monitors backups: Researches and evaluates new technologies related to computer networking; assists in planning, coordinating and consulting with vendors and clients for hardware/software purchases, product services and support. Recommends and specifies the purchase of related products and services. Keeps current regarding new hardware/software products for system enhancements.
  • E-mail/Internet/ Systems Support: Establishes and maintains user e-mail accounts; provides e-mail training and software support. Researches and troubleshoots e-mail problems. Interfaces with email hosting provider for problem resolution.
Qualifications:
  • 3 - 5 years experience in an office IT environment. Knowledge of, and some experience with, local and wide area networks management and administration including system configuration, setup, troubleshooting, planning, designing, implementation, and user support. Experience installing and supporting Microsoft server technologies.
  • Good knowledge of IT operating systems, especially Win Server (2003 and 2008), Win 7, Win XP and Mac. Working knowledge of local and wide area networks (LAN/WAN), Internet, e-mail systems. Knowledge of, and some experience with, folder redirection, roaming profiles, shadow copies, drive mapping, folder sharing, network printing, backup systems, security, active directory, DHCP, DNS, remote desktop and VPN.
  • Excellent communications skills. Excellent helpdesk, IT support and customer service skills. Good organizational skills. Good time management.
Desirable:
  • Familiarity with database fundamentals, specific technologies in use include Postgres, and MySQL
  • Linux system administration
  • Experience with the following technologies. HTML5, CSS, PHP, Javascript, and JQuery.

Senior IT System Administrator

Job Description: A computer consulting firm in NH is looking to add an experienced IT Systems Administrator. The IT Systems Administrator will primarily be responsible to work at clients' locations to ensure smooth operation of all systems, provide support to users and perform upgrades. The right candidate will be able to effectively coordinate and manage issues to resolution and execute projects. This position requires an individual with excellent problem solving skills, and the ability to troubleshoot quickly and effectively. He or she must be able to respond to competing user needs, while maintaining the integrity of the business systems' performance.

Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Qualifications:
  • 5 - 8 years experience as a System Administrator or related role.
  • Windows Server (2003, 2008, and 2012) system administration
  • Windows XP to Windows 7 Desktop operating systems.
  • Hands on management and troubleshooting of Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, TCP/IP, Group Policy, Windows Server management and support including upgrades and installations.
  • Setting up of workstations, configuration of desktops, and answering help desk requests.
Desirable:
  • Familiarity with database fundamentals, specific technologies in use include Postgres, and MySQL
  • Linux system administration
  • Experience with the following technologies. HTML, CSS, PHP, Javascript, and JQuery.
